Residence 110, Business Bay
Residence 110 is a twenty-storey tower in Business Bay, completed in 2019. The homes range from studios up to three-bedroom apartments, with one-bedroom and two-bedroom layouts between, so the building takes in a solo traveller, a couple, a pair of friends or a family.
Business Bay is a district of commercial and residential skyscrapers, and most of its buildings have more than twenty floors. Twenty puts this tower at the lower edge of that skyline, with the Dubai Canal running through the middle of the district.

What twenty floors do to a stay
Floor choice is the main decision in a building this size. A lower floor keeps you close to the lobby and the pool, with the car park nearby. A higher floor adds lift minutes and puts more air between you and the street. Both suit a short break, and the difference grows with every extra week.
The mix of homes matters as much as the floor. Studios and one-bedrooms suit a solo traveller or a couple. Two-bedrooms suit two friends or a small family. The three-bedroom apartments give a larger family one front door for the whole group, and that is rarer than it sounds when you are travelling with children and grandparents.
It suits you less if you want a resort. Business Bay is work-driven and can feel transactional, though its central position and the canal walks count in its favour.
A weekend or a month
A weekend needs a studio or a one-bedroom and the pool, and you can leave the rest alone. A week asks for the gym and the laundry service. Clothes and routine start to matter by the fourth day. A month is where the two-bedroom and three-bedroom layouts pay off, since more rooms mean more people can work or sleep without queueing for the same space.
The first two days
The Red Line links Business Bay Metro Station with Dubai International (DXB) Terminals 1 and 3, and a taxi from arrivals reaches the building in one leg. Arriving late with luggage is easier through a door that has a reception desk for residents and security with CCTV cover.
If you land with a hire car, the building has parking for residents. Spinneys and Choithrams stand on Bay Avenue for the first evening shop, and LIFE Pharmacy is among the pharmacies of the district.
If something is not right on the first night, the reception desk is where you report it, and maintenance services are provided at the building to put it right. A tower completed in 2019 is young by the standards of the district, and the common areas date from the last few years. Reporting a fault on the first evening means the second day starts without it.
The next morning belongs to coffee. Cafe Delices and Caffe Divino are for coffee, and Vyne Restaurant and Bar and Circle Cafe are for breakfast and weekend brunch. A laundry service in the building deals with what the suitcase brought, which means day two starts clean.
Who uses the pool and who uses the gym
A couple gets a pool for the afternoon and a long dinner afterwards. Kitchen 6 and Prime 68 are well-known places to eat in the district, with Oud Lounge for the evening. The gym inside the building covers the morning after.
A family wants the pool and a flat with a second or third bedroom, so the children have a door of their own. Bay Avenue Park is a place for children, with a skate park and graffiti-style design that teenagers like.
If you are working from the flat, the gym gives the day a hard edge, one session before the first call and one after the last. The laundry service and the maintenance services provided at the building take two chores off a long stay. You hold the desk and the call schedule, and the building holds the rest.
A day on a mid-height floor
A day on a mid-height floor starts in the gym, since residents have one inside the building and a session before work costs a lift ride and nothing more. By midday a swim answers the heat better than another coffee. In the evening, security with CCTV covers the premises, so you return to a building that is awake and watched.
The small services carry the longer stays. Parking for residents saves the daily hunt for a space, a laundry service keeps the suitcase from running out of clean shirts, and maintenance services are provided at the building when a light or a tap fails. None of it makes a headline. All of it decides whether the third week feels as easy as the first.
Getting around without a car
Business Bay Metro Station is on the Red Line, at the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road and the cross street that feeds the district. A skybridge over Sheikh Zayed Road links the station with the Al Wasl side of the highway.
Many RTA bus routes call at the metro station, among them the F14 and the F41. The canal marine line DC2 runs along the water and stops at Marasi and Business Bay among its stations. It charges a flat AED 2 per stop.
Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Ras Al Khor Road serve the district, and peak-hour traffic can slow things down. Congestion creates bottlenecks entering Business Bay from Sheikh Zayed Road, so a morning taxi leaves earlier than the clock suggests.

Around the tower
Most Business Bay buildings have gyms, swimming pools, concierge services and ground-floor shops, so a tower is judged on the details of its floors and services, not on whether it has a pool. Bay Avenue Park sits next to Spinneys. Burj Park in Downtown and Safa Park across Sheikh Zayed Road are the nearest large green spaces if the evening needs more grass than the promenade gives.
The canal promenade has walking paths and cycling tracks, with waterside dining. The Dubai Canal Boardwalk gives the towers a waterside walk, and Bay Square and Bay Avenue are the places for a meal or a browse.
The canal is crossed by road bridges at Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Wasl Road and Jumeirah Road, plus three pedestrian and cycle bridges. The twisted pedestrian bridge was renamed the Bridge of Tolerance in 2017.
How the district came about
Business Bay was established in 2003. Its infrastructure was completed in 2008. It covers 4.36 square kilometres.
