Pool, play area and a door for each child
If you are travelling with children, start with what sits inside the tower. It has a play area for children and a swimming pool for residents, and the landscaped gardens give the adults somewhere to sit outdoors while the little ones run about. A two-bedroom or three-bedroom gives a family more doors to close after bedtime, which counts for a lot over a fortnight. Stay a weekend and a two-bedroom is plenty. Stay a month and the third bedroom becomes a quiet room for homework. Past the gate, Bayside Park 5 is 0.2 km from the tower, the nearest green space, and KidZania, 0.97 km away, is the indoor plan for a wet or scorching afternoon.
The work week: gym, sauna and coffee downstairs
For a working stay the building does more than hold a bed. It has a gym and a spa, plus a sauna and a steam room, so a day at the laptop can end with a proper reset without leaving the tower. Retail units and cafes or restaurants sit on site, which means a coffee between calls needs no trip outside. From the forecourt to the lobby
Dubai International (DXB) is 19.4 km from the tower by road, about 19 minutes in free-flowing traffic, and the peak hour adds to that. A taxi covers the trip in one leg. If you prefer rail, the Red Line runs from DXB to Business Bay Metro Station, which is 2.24 km from the tower, so the last stretch becomes a short taxi or bus ride. Taxis and Uber add to the options.
A bus stop at the door and a boat for AED 2
The nearest bus stop is 0.1 km from the tower, and a water-taxi stop sits 0.32 km away. Marine line DC2 runs along the canal and stops at Marasi and Business Bay among others, for a flat AED 2 per stop. Business Bay Metro Station is on the Red Line at the junction of Sheikh Zayed Road and 35th Street, and a skybridge over the highway links it with the Al Wasl side, which saves a hot road crossing.
When the morning traffic builds
Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road carry most of the traffic, with Ras Al Khor Road as the third route in. Peak-hour traffic can slow all of them. The queue builds on Sheikh Zayed Road. Downtown Dubai is about 11 minutes away by car, which makes the Burj Khalifa a quick evening trip once the rush has passed.
Nurseries close, schools a drive away
For a longer family stay the school map matters. Blossom Nursery and Learning Tree Nursery are the nurseries named for Business Bay, while Hartland International School is the nearest at 2.31 km, North London Collegiate School is 2.63 km away and Dubai International School is 2.68 km away. It suits you less if you want a school on the same block, since none of these is a walk. The school run is a drive.
Pharmacies and clinics on foot or a short drive
Supercare Pharmacy is 0.52 km from the tower and Life Pharmacy is 0.71 km away. Medx is the nearest clinic to the tower. BIOS Clinic sits a little further out. Business Bay also has Emirates Hospital Clinic and Aster Clinic, so a cold or a sprained ankle does not become a cross-city trip.

Rain, cinema and indoor golf
When the heat or the rain closes the outdoors, Cinemacity is 0.89 km from the tower and Souk Al Bahar is 1.07 km away. Bay Avenue Mall is the main retail centre in Business Bay, inside the Executive Towers, and Bay Avenue is the area's hub for dining and shopping. It also hosts farmers' markets and music festivals through the year. Five Iron Golf runs an indoor golf and entertainment space at DAMAC Towers by Paramount, a fellow Business Bay tower, for an afternoon spent entirely inside.
Dinner on the canal side
Business Bay dining spans The MAINE Land Brasserie for French food, ROKA Dubai for Japanese and Long Teng Seafood Restaurant for Chinese, with Zaatar w Zeit serving Lebanese food around the clock. Bait Al Mandi and Tandoori Junction are the casual picks when you want a plain weeknight meal rather than a reservation.
The first shop and the first coffee
Al Reyhan Mini Mart, 0.42 km from the tower, covers the first evening. Spinneys, 0.46 km away, handles the bigger shop. Choithrams and Carrefour Market are also among the supermarkets in the district. For the morning, Cafe Delices and Caffe Divino are the named cafes, with Vyne Restaurant and Bar and Circle Cafe for breakfast and weekend brunch. Bay Avenue Mosque is among the mosques nearby.
A canal promenade and a skate park
The Dubai Water Canal promenade has walking paths and cycling tracks, plus waterside dining. The canal is crossed by pedestrian and cycle bridges as well as road bridges. Bay Avenue Park has a skate park in a graffiti-style design that teenagers like, and the same park is a short outing from the tower. That makes it the easier outing if the children outgrow the tower's play area. Burj Park has views of the Burj Khalifa.
Before you book
The home size comes first and the floor second, since a tower of 20 storeys gives you a real choice of height. Who is travelling decides the size. A weekday arrival also helps, because the Sheikh Zayed Road approach is kinder before the evening peak.
